What sets our products apart
Full control over production
The quality of our products is based on control over the entire production chain, from growing the raw materials to processing them.
The fruit, seeds and cladodes used in our products come exclusively from our own organic orchards. This allows us to control their origin, cultivation methods, harvesting and processing.
Production in the heart of the Alentejo and Algarve
Our farms and organic orchards are located in the Alentejo and Algarve, Portugal.
The climate, sunshine and soil characteristics of this region provide particularly favourable conditions for growing Opuntia ficus-indica and producing high-quality fruit, seeds and cladodes.
Natural and organic products
Our products are made in accordance with rigorous principles:
- 100% natural and pure ingredients;
- no additives;
- organic production and processing;
- no pesticides or synthetic chemical treatments;
- farming practices that respect soils and ecosystems;
- processing methods designed to preserve the plant’s natural and bioactive properties.
Every step is carried out with care to preserve as far as possible the nutritional and functional qualities of the fruit, cladodes, seeds and their by-products.
Making full use of the plant
Our production model has a clear goal: to make use of all harvested material.
Prickly pear fruit is separated into three components: peel, pulp and seeds.
The peel is dried and ground into flour. The pulp can be supplied fresh, frozen, pasteurised or high-pressure processed for use in juices, ice creams, jams, desserts and other food preparations.
The seeds are used to produce a highly sought-after premium plant oil. After oil extraction, the remaining material can also be ground into flour.
The same approach is applied to cladodes and nopal pads. This allows us to reduce waste and develop production based on circular economy principles.
Farming practices adapted to each plot
The final quality also depends on the care given to the crops.
Our practices include:
- orchard management in accordance with organic farming principles;
- carefully managed fertilisation based on regular soil and plant analyses;
- optimised irrigation systems;
- the use of moisture sensors in orchards and nurseries;
- management adapted to the climate and soil characteristics of each plot.
The natural presence of numerous pollinating insects, together with the activity of our own bees, supports flower pollination.
Effective pollination contributes to the formation of fertile seeds and directly supports the quality of the fruit, seeds and the oil extracted from them.
